_New Outfield Fence
_The hard work of the Baseball Foundation has paid dividends for the baseball facilities. We were finally able to get the water main that has plagued left field moved out of play. In addition to this, a new home run fence was constructed with solid vinyl panels and 3" thick padding over every post. The final result is a fence that is not only safer and stronger, but also much better to look at.
New Infield Dirt
Thanks in large part to a donation from Brandon Lyon, the Warriors were able to make multiple major improvements to the infield this winter. First, the infield grass cuts have been redone to be symmetrical and properly graded all the way around on both the inside and the outside of the infield dirt. Second, the first and third baselines have been widened. Third, the existing infield dirt has been removed and replaced with top of the line infield mix which has been laser graded to promote the flattest surface possible. Fourth, the batter's and catcher's boxes have been replaced with 100% clay material to surround a new home plate. Finally, the mound has been rebuilt to major league specifications with 100% clay tabletop and landing areas. The final product is an enormous improvement not only aesthetically, but also in playability.
A special thanks to the guys at Grassroots Inc. for the installation of all the dirt related products. It is hard to imagine there is another company out there that can match their knowledge or craftsmanship when it comes to any job on a baseball field. They exceeded expectations in every aspect of the project including cost. True professionals.
